A lot of people are looking for a battery grip to accessorize their 550D, be it for the added stability, prolonged battery life, the ability to use AAs in an emergency, or just to look plain cooler. However, at a relatively steep price of about $160, the official Canon battery grip is relatively expensive. But we’re in luck! In no more than a few months, Meike, a Chinese manufacturer for knockoff battery grips, has created their own version of the BG-E8 grip. At what price you ask? A meager fifty dollars. But there must be a catch, after all, there always is. Well, maybe not in this case.
